Just Jedi's Third Key Stone: The Tree's Roots

The roots are the very foundation that keeps both the trunk and branches standing high and tall. They spread out into the earth stabilizing life and drawing nutrients into the rest of the tree.

Like the Keystones of a Jedi's Journey, a Jedi acts and behaves with three prominate shoots

Service - “A Jedi Knight is Self-less in the service of respectable endeavors.

In today's world it can become real easy to be tricked and cheated by prying on your kindness and service. This does no one any good for you and your hard earned resources. And for those who are breaking the law or mistreating their position. So while it is important that Jedi provide Service, we feel it is of equal important to remember to do your research, be knowledgeable and work towards a respectable cause that will be of actual use.

Service has many offshoots such as, but not limited to:

  • Goodness
  • Heart
  • Adaptability
  • Compassion
  • Respect
  • Helpful

Discipline - “A Jedi Knight must be disciplined in study and action"

Self discovery, learning new things and trying out new boundaries are all necessary and important parts of a Jedi's Lifestyle. But without a healthy dose of self discipline in thought and/or action one can become lost in their wanderings and find their footing unstable. Being disciplined doesn't mean stagnation and resistance of growth. It simply implies that your roots grow stronger the farther out you grow.

Discipline has many offshoots such as, but not limited to::

  • Control
  • Development
  • Education
  • Practice
  • Self-Mastery
  • Cultivation

Valor - “A Jedi Knight must be morally correct in behavior or thinking

Being valorous is the ability to exemplify and bring out the best parts of themselves and in the people around them. It is a ability to stand tall and be there when others are in need and to act upon situations of any sort with positive behavior and positive thinking. It shows in how we care for ourselves, in how we speak to others, in how we treat them inside our own homes and out upon the street's. Valor is not something you practice when the time calls for it, but at all times in a Jedi's lifestyle. When you live what you wish to be, you will become what you truly are.

Valor has many offshoots such as, but not limited to::

  • Character (You)
  • Honesty
  • Integrity
  • Righteousness
  • Professionalism
  • Honor

Journal Entry

  • Write in your journal a recent example of when you provided service to others.
  • Write in your journal a recent example of when you exercised a self dicipline
  • Write in your journal a recent example of when you were valorous!
