What Are The Common Ranks of Jedi?

Image
The idea of “Rank” came out for two different reasons. The first reason is actually not quite what some may expect. During the founding years of internet use, the most common form of communication for Jedi was the use of “Forums” We did not have social media and blog’s were very rudimentary We had very basic, standard forum platforms which allowed the Administrator to control who accessed which parts of the forum. As such, study material was provided to members from a beginning to advanced structure. “Ranks” were used to show that you advance from a “step one” lesson to a “step two” which then opened up different parts of the forum. This  leads us into the Second reason. Ranks is a common practice both in ancient time’s and in modern day practice. You will find examples of Rank at school, at work, in many community programs, the military, the church and of course. It sounds really cool in fictional and mythological stories! What Is The Difference To Cos players?

We actually get this question a lot. From new members to the community as well as from interviewers such as but not limited to: Student Projects, news reporters and documentary directors.... What is the difference? This question is often asked because (While not a requirement)  it is not unheard of for Jediists t o wear Jedi robes, train with toy lightsabers, and adopt fictional references such as   “May The Force Be With You” into their practices or chosen social behavior amongst each other. You will find these practices at Jedi Gatherings for Knighting Ceremonies or Weddings and in cases like the Chicago Jedi who attend Con’s, flash mobs, workshop’s and charitable events in full jedi like attire in order to participate in their local communities and also to get the word out that they are there. There are also  Individual member who found a deeper meanings to wearing the jedi robe’s for practice s like meditations and ceremonies or perso...

Realism vs Jediism

Image
The common practice to become or be a “Jedi” was based around a lifestyle choice to better oneself.  By studying subjects commonly following the “Mind” “Body” & “Spirit” structure in which members developed practices that touched on these aspects of an individual’s everyday life. The Mind so that a jedi could learn to communicate, think critically and mediate tough situations. The Body so that we could be healthy both in common health and in physical practices that got you up out of your chair and moving actively.   And... course... The Spirit . Learning meditation, the force, and understanding the self through the reading of philosophy. These members called themselves “Jedi Realists” because it was their goal to enrich their lives by improving their potentials like “Jedi” in star wars did. Jediism :  After the founding years of members using the internet to connect with each other and share like interest’s that correlated with the Star Wars p...

What Is a "Jedi?"

Today, there are many beliefs, philosophies and practices that defines "Jedi" a little differently from the other. “Jedi” itself is fractured and divided and even to this day splinter groups are still a common occurrence. One that is likely to never fade entirely.    No matter the differences. There are universally agreed upon standards that makes one a Jedi. A Jedi of today are not in any way associated with the Fiction of Star Wars A Jedi accepts the title as a natural part of who and what they are A Jedi upholds to a set of morally accepted codes (Key Stone’s - as defined by Just Jedi) A Jedi believes in The Force as a form of energy A Jedi trains in some fashion or another A Jedi agrees that all Jediist’s and/or Realist goes through some form of awakening/journey How these standards are applied is up to the group and/or individual that set’s forth to share what they practice. While the appearance, wording, layout and/or structure m...
